The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) is accepting suggestions for session topics for its 2023 annual conference.

The VCIA noted that successful suggestions will address current issues facing captive insurance while providing concrete takeaways. Session content should include a captive insurance company owner highlighting personal experiences and real case studies, the VCIA said.

The VCIA cited several areas it hopes to address in 2023 conference sessions.

  • Topics for young professionals
  • Advanced-level captive session
  • Professional development topics relevant to those in the captive industry
  • New insurance industry technologies that will help drive the future of risk management

The organization encouraged those submitting suggestions to consider creative ways to engage conference attendees and nontraditional session formats.

The VCIA cautioned that it typically receives more suggestions for investment-related topics than are needed and asked those offering investment suggestions to limit them to one or two topics. In addition, conference presentations cannot be sales pitches.

Session suggestions will be reviewed by a team of captive owners and content advisers. Those submitting suggestions will be notified by the end of January whether their suggestions have been selected.

Session suggestions can be submitted through an online survey form. Multiple suggestions are permitted and can be made by completing additional surveys.
