The Vermont Captive Insurance Association's (VCIA) annual conference will be held in person on August 8–11, 2022, in Burlington, Vermont.

The conference will have a wide array of sessions, including looking at the best practices for establishing and operating a captive insurance company, reducing the effect of social inflation on captives, and how to add third-party business to captives.

Other sessions will look at medical stop-loss coverages, group captives, and a hot topics discussion with Dave Provost, deputy commissioner of Vermont's Captive Insurance Division in Montpelier.

More information about the conference is available on the VCIA website.

With 620 captives at the end of 2021, Vermont is the largest US captive insurance domicile and the world's third-largest captive domicile.

In 2021, Vermont licensed 45 new captives, the fourth-highest year of growth in Vermont's 40-year history as a captive insurance domicile.
