The 2020 Bermuda Captive Conference will be held as a virtual event due to continued uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The event had earlier been rescheduled from June to September due to the pandemic.

The online event will take place September 9–11. The theme of the 2020 conference is "Vision." The annual conference typically attracts hundreds of attendees.

Conference organizers said that the virtual event will provide attendees the opportunity to hear industry perspectives from a variety of speakers while also having the chance to network with other captive insurance company owners and service providers. The event will feature educational sessions, a keynote speaker, and a virtual trade show floor.

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted the Vermont Captive Insurance Association to decide earlier this year to conduct its annual conference in August as a virtual event. Last week, the Kentucky Captive Association announced that it was moving its August annual conference online as well due to the pandemic.

Numerous other captive industry events have been canceled or rescheduled this year due to COVID-19, beginning with the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), which canceled its 2020 International Conference in early March. CICA has since been posting conference sessions as a series of webinars.

Registration for the virtual 2020 Bermuda Captive Conference is to begin in the coming weeks. More information about the event can be found at the Bermuda Captive Conference website.
