Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc., will host its ninth annual Pinnacle University—a continuing education partnership of Pinnacle and several national universities—March 28 and March 30.

Pinnacle University was created to give university actuarial students exposure to existing and emerging issues in the insurance industry. The program provides real-world experience in managing a project, collaborating with a team, and delivering a professional presentation.

"Pinnacle is proud of the Pinnacle University program," Pinnacle Managing Principal Joe Herbers said in a statement. "It represents our fundamental and absolute commitment to the future of our great profession and to the next generation of actuaries. Pinnacle University exposes students to critical issues while allowing them to experience true professional collaboration and cooperation."

To prepare for the event, actuarial students work with Pinnacle's actuarial professionals to research topics. During the invitation-only Pinnacle University, teams present their findings, and a panel of credentialed actuaries from Pinnacle, insurance companies, universities, and other actuarial organizations critique and discuss the conclusions, content, and execution of the presentations.

While the event is typically held at Pinnacle's home office in Bloomington, Illinois, this year's Pinnacle University is being held virtually.

Topics at this year's Pinnacle University will include business interruption, the impact of inflation on the property-casualty insurance industry, autonomous vehicles, and others.

Pinnacle is an independent, full-service actuarial firm owned by its professional staff that focuses on the property-casualty insurance industry. In addition to its home office in Bloomington, the firm also has offices in Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco.
