AXA XL Insurance has appointed Michael Takigawa head of commercial errors and omissions (E&O) for the Americas region. Based in San Francisco and Monterey, California, Mr. Takigawa will oversee the underwriting strategy and product innovation for AXA XL's commercial E&O business in the regions, which includes lawyers, accountants, and miscellaneous professional liability.
Warren Miller, a client relationship manager with Performa Investment Management in Charleston, South Carolina, is also responsible for working with Performa's marketing and business development team to cultivate new relationships. He also has been a conference task force member for various captive insurance associations.
Jay Branum, the long-time director of captives in the South Carolina Department of Insurance (SCDOI), has resigned his position to take a job elsewhere, a spokeswoman for the SCDOI confirmed. Mr. Branum joined the SCDOI in late 2013 as captive director, a newly created position.
Richard Paris-Smith will join Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) as European client service leader, the independent insurance company manager has announced. Mr. Paris-Smith will begin his new position on January 1, 2022, and will report to Peter Child, Guernsey managing director.
Richard Smith, the long-time president of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA), will step down from his position at the beginning of 2022, the VCIA announced on September 30, 2021. The VCIA has set up a formal search committee to focus on finding a successor to Mr. Smith.
