The North Carolina Captive Insurance Association (NCCIA) is seeking proposals for presentations for the 2023 NCCIA Conference.

The 2023 NCCIA Conference, which has the theme "Elevate; Reaching New Heights," will be held May 7–10 at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Asheville, North Carolina.

Individuals interested in making a panel presentation at the conference are asked to return a request for presentation for consideration by the NCCIA Conference planning committee, chaired by Susan Euteneuer of Oxford Risk Management Group.

The NCCIA said it is looking for creative and stimulating sessions that provide relevant and germane ideas significant to today's captive insurance industry as well as topics that consider the future of the captive industry. In particular, the planning committee is looking for sessions offering case studies focused on solutions to problems in the captive management process.

Submissions should include the following items.

  • A concise and descriptive title
  • A summary of no more than 100 words of the proposed session's pertinent and unique content
  • A list of proposed panelists (panels should include three speakers, preferably from multiple companies with a captive owner on the panel)

The NCCIA said the conference committee would give greater weight to proposals addressing the following topics: drug and alcohol programs; parametrics; risk management; policy development; loss control; COVID-19-related topics; tax developments; cyber-security issues; directors and officers and other hard market challenges; recession-related developments; the evolution of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations; best practices in claims handling; the rise of protected cell captives; and the pros and cons of risk retention groups.

The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. EDT October 28. For more information and to submit a proposal, visit the NCCIA website.
