The North Carolina Captive Insurance Association (NCCIA) has begun planning for its 2024 annual conference, including seeking proposals for conference sessions.

The NCCIA's annual conference planning committee held its first meeting in September, chaired by Scott Bailey, partner at the Carr Riggs & Ingram CPA and advisory firm.

The North Carolina captive group said it's looking for creative and stimulating session topics that provide relevant and germane ideas of significance to today's captive insurance industry. It's also seeking suggestions for sessions considering the future of the captive insurance industry.

Session proposals must be submitted to the conference planning committee by October 27 using the NCCIA's online proposal submission form.

In the NCCIA's most recent newsletter, Mr. Bailey said the conference planning committee is particularly interested in submissions addressing such topics as insuring technology, the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry, risk retention groups and the new North Carolina statute guarantee, warranty coverage trends, directors and officers insurance, and other hard market challenges.

The NCCIA's 2024 conference is scheduled for April 28–May 1, 2024, in Asheville, North Carolina.
