Dirk Wegener was reelected to the board of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) during the association's general assembly Tuesday and reelected as FERMA president during the board meeting that followed.

Mr. Wegener is global head of corporate insurance for Deutsche Bank and a member of the German risk management association GVNW.

FERMA members also elected Laurence Eeckman to the association's board. Ms. Eeckman is vice president group risk management at AB Electrolux and a member of SWERMA, the Swedish risk management association.

Ms. Eeckman takes the place of Maria Isabel Martinez who left FERMA's board after 9 years.

"The last year has not been an easy time, but we are seeing the fruits of investment in risk management and resilience as we move into a recovery phase. We can highlight positive developments worldwide and in Europe," Mr. Wegener said during the online general assembly of FERMA's 22 member associations. "We have learned a great deal, which I would sum up in two short sentences: Cooperation is essential. Resilience is critical."
