Derek Bridgeman is joining captive management and consulting services provider Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) as part of an expansion of the firm's European consulting team.

Mr. Bridgeman will join the firm's European operations May 18 as managing director and will develop and lead SRS's risk consulting practice in Europe.

Prior to joining SRS, Mr. Bridgeman led the international captive advisory practice at Marsh since 2017. In addition to his risk finance advisory experience, he spent more than 10 years in Marsh's captive management practice serving a variety of multinational captive insurance company owners and special purpose reinsurance entities. He also led Marsh's EU Solvency II and Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiatives.

Mr. Bridgeman will join the board of SRS Europe, which includes its pan-European branch offices.

"I worked with some great people and really enjoyed my time with Marsh. However, I am delighted to have been presented with the opportunity to join SRS," Mr. Bridgeman said in a statement. "The proven track record and independent nature of SRS was highly appealing to me, and I look forward to building on the solid foundation developed in Europe to date."

In a further expansion of SRS Europe's consulting operations, Neil Campbell has joined the European consulting team to focus primarily on the firm's structured reinsurance consulting capabilities. Mr. Campbell began his career with ICI's insurance team in London and was risk manager for Zeneca and AstraZeneca for 12 years. He then joined JLT as leader of the Global Life Science Practice before setting up his own consulting firm in 2014. He will support SRS Europe's risk consulting around captive strategies and complex reinsurance options.

"With the European operational infrastructure now firmly established and represented in major European Union domiciles, the firm is gaining traction with clients and plans to continue to hire great talent to drive the business forward," Brady Young, president and CEO of SRS, said in the statement. "With broker-owned management firm mergers continuing, we are the only credible option for captive owners if they want international, independent, and unbiased advice underpinned by solid management services."

"I am looking forward to welcoming both Derek and Neil to the team at a time when our industry enters one of its most exciting and innovative eras," Mr. Young said.
