Davies has appointed James Ferris as chief executive officer of its captive management business, effective July 1. Mr. Ferris, based in Bermuda, succeeds Nick Frost, who will become chairman.

Mr. Ferris brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience to the role. He most recently served as CEO of capital and risk advisory at BMS in Bermuda. Before that, he spent over 20 years at PwC, where he was lead partner of the advisory team in Bermuda. Mr. Ferris will lead Davies' global captive team and focus on expanding services and capabilities.

Mr. Frost has led Davies' captive management business as CEO for 14 years. In his new role as chairman, he will serve as an ambassador and support the firm's strategy for US captive owners. Under Mr. Frost's leadership, Davies has strengthened its position as a global leader in captive insurance management and alternative risk solutions, adapting to changing risks and market conditions.

Davies said the leadership changes will help the captive management business grow into new global domiciles to meet rising demand for international support.

"James will be an exciting addition to our growing global captive management business and reflects our ambitious growth plans. James' extensive experience within the industry will bring new developments and we look forward to seeing his future contributions. The move of Nick Frost to chairman is a pivotal internal change to consolidate team strengths and maintain the tremendous progress Nick has made over the last 5 years, and we look forward to seeing continued growth in the future," Steven Crabb, CEO—insurance solutions at Davies, said.

"My time spent as CEO of captive management has been incredibly rewarding and being able to work with the captive management team has been a privilege. I look forward to seeing developments in the captive team under James' leadership," Mr. Frost said.

"I'm delighted to be moving into the role in such a critical landscape of the reinsurance industry, and I'm looking forward to broadening the Davies offering to the market, building on the core strengths in the team. Furthermore, I'm honored to be stepping in after Nick Frost who has curated and developed the team over the past 14 years," Mr. Ferris said.
