May 14, 2026
The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), the Cayman International Reinsurance Companies Association (CIRCA), and the Cayman Islands Insurance Association (CIIA) will host the inaugural Cayman NextGen Insurance Forum on May 28 at the Grand Cayman Marriott Resort.
The free event is designed to introduce young Caymanians to career opportunities in the insurance and reinsurance sectors. Organizers said the forum will bring together students, early-career professionals, and industry representatives for discussions on career pathways and industry development.
The forum targets high school graduates, university students, and those beginning their careers, as well as parents and advisers helping guide career decisions. Organizers said the initiative is intended to strengthen awareness of Cayman's insurance market and support the long-term talent pipeline for the jurisdiction.
"This forum is one of the first initiatives from our newly formed IMAC committee, and represents an important step in connecting the next generation of Caymanians with the opportunities available across Cayman's insurance industry," said Troy Matarazzo, chair of IMAC's Talent Development Committee. "By creating direct access to professionals and real career insights, we hope to inspire greater participation and long-term growth across the sector."
"Cayman's reinsurance sector continues to evolve, creating new and diverse career opportunities for Caymanians," said Simranjit Singh, chair of CIRCA's Social and Outreach Committee. "Through this initiative, we're helping to demystify the industry and connect young people with professionals who can share their experiences and guidance."
The program will include an overview of commercial insurance, captive insurance, and reinsurance, along with discussions about Cayman's role in the global market. Organizers also plan a young professionals panel and an "Ask-Me-Anything" session featuring individuals currently working in the sector.
Additional programming includes a Career Insights Hub with small-group discussions led by professionals in underwriting, accounting, compliance, and related disciplines. Attendees will also have access to information about internships, scholarships, and entry-level employment opportunities offered by participating firms.
"The Cayman Islands has a thriving domestic insurance market," said Evelyn Tibbetts-Farrar, president of CIIA. "This forum is a great chance to show just how many exciting career paths the industry offers and to inspire more Caymanians to see insurance as a future full of opportunity."
