Captive Resources Names Curry Head of Health Solutions Underwriting

Captive Resources has named Andy Curry head of Health Solutions Underwriting, placing the underwriting veteran in charge of strategy, technical underwriting, and underwriting operations for the company's Health Solutions business.
Mr. Curry has more than 20 years of underwriting and leadership experience, with a background in medical stop-loss insurance. He began his career at Sun Life Financial as a stop-loss underwriter before joining Tufts Health Plan, where his responsibilities included fully insured and self-funded business.
He later joined Berkley Accident & Health, where he led a team of stop-loss underwriters and supported underwriting operations and strategic initiatives.
Most recently, Mr. Curry served as vice president and chief underwriter at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, providing strategic direction for the organization's commercial underwriting programs. His responsibilities included medical stop-loss, large employer, pharmacy and retention underwriting, as well as product and pricing strategy and relationships with insurers and reinsurers.
In his new role, Mr. Curry will also serve as a key point of contact for insurer partners. He will report to Steve Gransbury, president of Health Solutions, and join the Health Solutions Leadership Team.

"His experience leading underwriting strategy and operations, coupled with his understanding of the broader healthcare landscape, will further strengthen our underwriting capabilities and the support we provide to our [insurer] partners, brokers, and members."
Mr. Curry holds a master of business administration from Bentley College's McCallum Graduate School and a bachelor of business administration from St. Francis Xavier University.
