Alabama Captive Insurance Association Sets 2021 Conference Dates

The Alabama Captive Insurance Association (ACIA) will hold its 2021 annual conference August 24–26 at the Grand Hotel Golf Resort and Spa in Point Clear, Alabama.

The ACIA says the conference will host insurance professionals, captive owners, regulators, and risk management and insurance students to discuss trends and the future of alternative risk management.

Earlier this year, Alabama lawmakers approved legislation that, among other things, reduces minimum capitalization requirements for pure and protected cell captives to $100,000 from $250,000 and eliminates the requirement that captive insurance companies licensed in other states that want to move to Alabama undergo a new examination by Alabama regulators.
