The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) will hold its 2020 European Risk Management Seminar as a fully virtual event.

FERMA cited uncertainty over the potential impact and duration of the COVID-19 pandemic in moving this year's seminar, scheduled for October 12–13, to an online format.

FERMA said the virtual event will feature a 3D digital conference center offering high-level online content and virtual networking opportunities. The organization will livestream plenary sessions and workshops while keeping the educational event an interactive experience, allowing attendees to learn and engage online with the European risk management community.

Among the issues to be addressed at this year's seminar are translating strategic risk issues into financial terms, quantifying emerging risks, quantifying the value of insurance as a risk management measure in the enterprise risk management process, linking quantified risks with financial instruments, and improving communication with the chief financial officer.

The 2020 seminar was originally to be held in Antwerp, Belgium. More information about FERMA's 2020 virtual seminar and registration can be found at the seminar's website.
