May 05, 2026
The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has opened registration for its 41st annual conference, scheduled for August 11–13, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in South Burlington, Vermont. Conference and hotel details are available through the association's website.
The event marks the first annual conference under Ian Davis, president of VCIA, and introduces a new conference logo and tagline, "Where the Captive World Comes Together." The branding reflects ongoing growth in the captive insurance sector and Vermont's position as a leading domicile.

"This conference has always been about learning, connection, and progress," said Mr. Davis. "I'm honored to help build on that legacy as we gather together in Burlington this August."
Now in its 41st year, the conference typically attracts more than 1,100 attendees from across the United States and internationally, including captive owners, risk managers, regulators, attorneys, accountants, consultants, and service providers. Organizers describe it as a central event for industry networking and education.
Programming includes a pre-conference Captive Immersion session on August 10, designed for both new entrants and experienced professionals seeking a refresher on core concepts. Educational sessions will address emerging risks, market volatility, regulatory developments, tax and compliance issues, and technology trends. Professional credits, including the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) Continuing Professional Education (CPE), Vermont Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), will be available for most sessions.
The conference will also feature a fully booked exhibitor hall representing a wide range of captive service providers. Networking opportunities include multiple receptions and a closing keynote luncheon intended to facilitate business connections across the sector.
"The captive industry continues to grow in sophistication and strategic importance," said Gail Newman, board chair of VCIA. "VCIA26 is where the people shaping its future come to find each other. We look forward to welcoming the captive world to Burlington this August."
