The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has opened registration for its 40th Annual Conference, scheduled for August 11–13, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Burlington, Vermont. The event, the largest of its kind in the United States, is expected to draw nearly 1,100 captive insurance professionals from across the country and abroad.

"The captive industry continues to see unprecedented growth, and as we celebrate our 40th anniversary, our conference remains the premier destination for professionals at all stages of their captive journey—from newcomers to seasoned experts looking to expand their knowledge and networks," Kevin Mead, CEO of VCIA, said.

The 2025 conference will feature 31 educational sessions, most of which qualify for CPE, CRE, CLE, or ICCIE credits. Topics will include climate risk, artificial intelligence, mergers, and social inflation, presented by leading industry experts. The full schedule is available at vcia.com.

The event will also host 75 exhibitors and offer direct engagement with the Vermont regulatory team. Attendees can connect during structured networking events, including lunches, receptions, and the sold-out exhibit hall.

This year, the conference will expand its offerings for captive owners. Exclusive elements include a peer-to-peer lunch, an enhanced captive owner forum, and a private tour of Beta Technologies, a Vermont-based developer of electric aircraft.

The event will culminate in a 40th Anniversary Gala, alongside popular gatherings like the exhibitor reception and an off-site party at Hotel Vermont. "For our 40th anniversary, we've elevated every aspect of the experience—from expanded educational offerings to exclusive networking opportunities. The VCIA conference continues to be where meaningful connections happen and where the future of the captive industry takes shape," said Ryan Gadapee, conference chair and shareholder at Primmer Piper Eggleston & Cramer.

Founded in 1985, VCIA supports nearly 400 members through lobbying, education, and information-sharing that promote the continued growth of the captive insurance industry in Vermont.
