VCIA Opens Call for 2027 Annual Conference Sessions

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) has opened its call for session and discussion group proposals for the 2027 VCIA Annual Conference, seeking presentations focused on emerging trends, practical strategies, and advanced issues affecting the captive insurance industry.

Industry leaders, risk management professionals, and subject matter experts may submit proposals through October 9, 2026. Multiple submissions from individuals and organizations are permitted.

VCIA is seeking proposals that move beyond high-level overviews and provide current research, actionable strategies, real-world case studies, and opportunities for audience participation. The association is also encouraging submissions that feature diverse perspectives and inclusive panel representation.

Topics of particular interest for the 2027 conference include climate and parametric risk, such as emerging coverage solutions and environmental risk strategies. VCIA is also seeking advanced content addressing the evolution and maturity of established captives, such as post-formation expansion into additional lines, claims management, third-party administrators, and fronting structures.

Other areas of interest include global and cross-border strategies for multinational risks and international operations, as well as benchmarking and performance data that can provide comparative analysis and metrics for captive operations.

VCIA is also looking for proposals examining practical uses of artificial intelligence, technology, and analytics in underwriting, claims, and regulatory reporting. Advanced reinsurance and fronting strategies are another priority, with an emphasis on technical content for experienced captive insurance practitioners.

The association said interactive formats are preferred, including sessions emphasizing hands-on learning, audience participation, or structured networking rather than traditional lecture-style presentations.

Proposals must be submitted by the end of the day on October 9 through VCIA's online submission portal.
