VCIA Opens Call for 2026 Conference Session Proposals

September 12, 2025

The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) is now accepting session proposals for its 2026 Annual Conference, which will take place August 11–13, in Burlington, Vermont. The association is calling for submissions that deliver world-class captive education and move beyond basic overviews to offer practical methodology, key takeaways, and implementation strategies.
The submission deadline is the end of the day on October 10, 2025. VCIA encourages multiple proposals per person but prohibits sales-driven presentations.
Proposals should emphasize current issues impacting the captive insurance industry and incorporate concrete data, case studies, and insights relevant to today's market. VCIA is specifically looking for innovative content with detailed outlines and dynamic, interactive formats that promote active learning and inclusivity.

The 2026 program will feature a broad range of topics, including advanced sessions on captive coverages such as medical stop loss, cyber, and property. Other areas of focus include emerging technologies shaping risk management, strategies for mature captives, including reinsurance, foundational content for young professionals, and segment-specific content for various captive structures.
Professional development is also a priority, with a request for proposals that address evolving industry competencies. While investment-related topics are welcome, VCIA asks submitters to limit them to one or two per contributor due to oversubscription in that category.
Diverse voices—from emerging professionals to seasoned experts—are encouraged to contribute. Following its 40th anniversary conference in 2025, VCIA is shaping the next chapter of captive insurance education with engaging, high-impact sessions.
