The Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) will host its first-quarter educational webinar on February 18 at 2:00 p.m. (EST), bringing together senior leaders from the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation (DFR) Captive Insurance Division to discuss current regulatory priorities affecting captive insurers operating in Vermont.

Titled "Start Strong, Stay Strong: Licensing, Business Plan Changes & Exams in Vermont," the webinar will feature Christine Brown, deputy commissioner of the Captive Insurance Division, alongside Dan Petterson, director of captive examinations, and Jim DeVoe-Talluto, assistant director of captive insurance. The panel will walk through recent regulatory developments with a focus on licensing requirements, business plan changes, and expectations during regulatory examinations, followed by a live question-and-answer session.

The program is designed for professionals with a basic understanding of captive regulation and is classified at an intermediate level. Participants will gain insight into Vermont DFR's latest licensing guidance, how recent regulatory updates may impact captive business plans, and practical considerations for preparing for and responding to regulatory exams.

The webinar is free for VCIA member organizations and available to nonmembers for a registration fee of $150 per person, with a discounted rate of $135 per person for groups of three or more registering at the same time. The session will be delivered via a group internet-based format, with no phone-in option. Participants must be preregistered and paid in advance to attend. While refunds are not permitted, substitutions may be made prior to the event.

The program is eligible for 1 hour of Continuing Professional Education (CPE)/Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit, as well as one ACE CE and one ICCIE teleconference credit. No advanced preparation is required.

Registration closes February 17, with access details provided to registrants in advance of the webinar.
