The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has announced that Typhaine Beauperin will step down from her roles as CEO and secretary general of the federation in June.

Ms. Beauperin became FERMA CEO in December 2015 and was appointed secretary general in 2019. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction, championing the interests of FERMA's member associations at the European Union (EU) and international levels, and elevating the profile of the risk management profession, a FERMA statement said.

As CEO, Ms. Beauperin enhanced the federation's advocacy capacity and strengthened its voice within EU institutions, helping embed a risk management-based approach into key pieces of legislation, FERMA said. She also led the development of FERMA's EU Policy Manifestos, setting out the federation's priorities for EU lawmakers.

In addition, Ms. Beauperin recently oversaw the transformation of the FERMA Risk Manager Survey from a European to a global initiative.

FERMA said it has begun its succession planning and will announce a new CEO in due course. The organization will also appoint a new secretary general.

"We are truly grateful to Typhaine for her constant commitment to FERMA's mission of representing the European risk management community," Charlotte Hedemark, FERMA president, said in the statement. "Over the past 9 years, she has worked tirelessly to advance our strategic goals, enhance our EU influence, grow our network, and shape FERMA into the agile, forward-thinking organization it is today."

"FERMA's mission has always been to raise the visibility and influence of the risk management profession," Ms. Beauperin said in the statement. "It has been an honor to contribute to this mission working alongside an exceptional team and to represent the risk management community on both EU and global stages."
