South Carolina Names Greg Delleney Assistant Director of Captives

The South Carolina Department of Insurance has named Greg Delleney as assistant director of captives. Mr. Delleney previously was the South Carolina captive division's supervising analyst.

A graduate of The Citadel, where he received a bachelor of science in accounting, Mr. Delleney joined the South Carolina department in 2010, working in the workers compensation area. In 2014. he moved into the captive division as a financial analyst, then spent approximately 18 months reviewing South Carolina-domiciled captives' business plan changes.

Next, Mr. Delleney was named the division's supervising analyst, responsible for reviewing the work of the division's five analysts.

In his new role as assistant director of the captive division, Mr. Delleney will be responsible for promoting the domicile and marketing, as well as serving as the point of contact for anyone interested in forming a captive in South Carolina. "Once the COVID situation is over I'll be out on the circuit a couple of times a year, promoting the domicile," Mr. Delleney said.

In his new role, the South Carolina native said he's looking forward to "further developing relationships with members of the industry and the community, and helping keep South Carolina as a premier domicile for captive insurance."
