Pinnacle Promotes Laura Maxwell to Principal and Consulting Actuary

Laura Maxwell has been promoted to principal and consulting actuary at Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, effective January 1. She previously served as director and consulting actuary, a title she held since 2021.

"Laura has been an exceptional leader at our firm and within the actuarial profession, with decades of outstanding service to our clients and the industry," managing principal Roosevelt Mosley said. "Laura consistently demonstrates our firm's commitment to the highest professional standards and practices."

Ms. Maxwell has worked in the property-casualty insurance industry since 1987 and joined Pinnacle in 2006 at its San Francisco office. Her prior experience includes positions with a consulting firm, an automobile insurer, a state insurance department, and a national rating bureau.

At Pinnacle, she leads the firm's Supervisor and Professionalism Key Management Areas. She also serves as appointed actuary for multiple insurers and collaborates with state insurance departments, captive insurance companies, and self-insured public entities such as municipalities, school districts, and state underground storage tank funds.

Ms. Maxwell is also active in professional organizations. She chairs the Casualty Actuarial Society's Casualty Loss Reserve Seminar Planning Committee, serves as a general officer on its Syllabus and Examination Committee, and is a member of the American Academy of Actuaries' Committee on Professional Responsibility.

She holds credentials as a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics.
