In this role, Mr. McElhiney will support the company's commercial strategy and industry engagement.

Prior to that, he was senior vice president and global director of reinsurance at Artex Risk Solutions, overseeing strategy and delivery for complex single-parent captive programs and reinsurance structures, including direct and facultative and treaty placements across captives, risk retention groups, managing general agents, and mutual insurers.
Earlier in his career, Mr. McElhiney served as president of EWI Re Inc., a subsidiary of Valhi Inc. He also held roles as chief risk officer of Valhi Corporation and president of its Vermont-domiciled captive insurer, Tall Pines Insurance Company, in addition to serving as president of EWI Re (UK) Ltd.

He has also held industry leadership positions, including serving as chairman of the Captive Insurance Companies Association and chairman of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association, and has been recognized by Captive Review as a Hall of Fame member and Power 50 honoree.
The appointment reflects continued activity at the intersection of captive insurance and emerging technologies, as firms explore new approaches to data, reinsurance structures, and operational efficiency.
