NCCIA Names New Board Leadership Following Annual Conference

The North Carolina Captive Insurance Association (NCCIA) has named new board leadership following its 2026 annual conference in Charlotte, which the association said drew significantly higher attendance than the previous year.

Scott Bailey has been named chair of the NCCIA board of directors after previously serving as the association's treasurer. Jordan Mosher of Huntington Bank will succeed Mr. Bailey as treasurer, while Chad Spitzer has joined the board as its newest member.

NCCIA President and CEO Zach Almond announced the leadership changes in the association's September newsletter.

"Scott has been a tremendous asset to the Association, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow NCCIA and advocate for North Carolina's captive insurance industry," Mr. Almond said.

The leadership transition follows NCCIA's annual conference in Charlotte in August. The event brought together captive owners, service providers, regulators, and other industry professionals from North Carolina and elsewhere.

Mr. Almond said feedback following the conference was overwhelmingly positive and attendance was significantly higher than in 2025. He credited NCCIA members, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, board members, and volunteers with supporting the event and the association's growth.

The new NCCIA board is scheduled to meet October 16 at the Washington Duke Inn in Durham, North Carolina. The meeting will focus on the association's priorities following the annual conference and planning for the coming year.

The North Carolina captive insurance industry has developed into one of the larger US captive domiciles since the state enacted its captive insurance law in 2013. NCCIA represents participants in the state's captive insurance industry and works with captive owners, service providers, regulators, and other industry stakeholders.

"There is a great deal to be excited about at NCCIA," Mr. Almond said. "Our conference is growing, our membership and industry remain strong, and we have an outstanding group of leaders to help guide the Association forward."
