Insurance Commissioners Group Names 2024 Committee Leadership

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has named its 2024 committee chairs and vice chairs.

The NAIC also assigned members to its standing committees and named its 2024 task force chairs and vice chairs based on requirements established in the organization's bylaws.

New NAIC committee chairs and vice chairs include the following.

Life Insurance and Annuities (A) Committee. Judith L. French, director of the Ohio Department of Insurance, as chair; Doug Ommen, commissioner of the Iowa Insurance Division, as vice chair; and Carter Lawrence, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, as co-vice chair.

Health Insurance and Managed Care (B) Committee. Anita G. Fox, director of the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services, as chair; Grace Arnold, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Commerce, as co-vice chair; and Glen Mulready, commissioner of the Oklahoma Insurance Department, as co-vice chair.

Property and Casualty Insurance (C) Committee. Alan McClain, commissioner of the Arkansas Department of Commerce, Arkansas Insurance Department, as chair; Michael Conway, commissioner of the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Insurance, as co-vice chair; and Michael Yaworsky, commissioner of the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, as co-vice chair.

Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs (D) Committee. Jon Pike, commissioner of the Utah Insurance Department, as chair; Barbara D. Richardson, cabinet executive officer of the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions, as co-vice chair; and Trinidad Navarro, commissioner of the Delaware Department of Insurance, as co-vice chair.

Financial Condition (E) Committee. Elizabeth Kelleher Dwyer, superintendent of the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, Division of Insurance, as chair, and Nathan Houdek, commissioner of the Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, as vice chair.

Financial Regulation Standards and Accreditation (F) Committee. Lori K. Wing-Heier, director of the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, Division of Insurance, as chair; Sharon P. Clark, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Insurance, as co-vice chair; and Andrew R. Stolfi, director/insurance commissioner of the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, as co-vice chair.

International Insurance Regulations (G) Committee. Gary D. Anderson, commissioner of the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, Division of Insurance, as chair; Eric Dunning, director of the Nebraska Department of Insurance, as co-vice chair; and Dean L. Cameron, director of the Idaho Department of Insurance, as co-vice chair.

Innovation, Cybersecurity, and Technology (H) Committee. Kathleen A. Birrane, commissioner of the Maryland Insurance Administration, as chair; Chlora Lindley-Myers, director of the Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance, as co-vice chair; and Kevin Gaffney, commissioner of the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation, as co-vice chair.

"Through the NAIC's committee structure, state insurance regulators collaborate to set standards and ensure fair, competitive, and healthy insurance markets to protect consumers," NAIC President and Connecticut Insurance Commissioner Andrew N. Mais said in a statement. "NAIC committee assignments help build a strong foundation for the overall success of our committee work throughout the year, and I thank all of our committee members for their willingness to serve."
