The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) raised nearly $20,000 for its Educational Scholarship Fund during its annual Golf Scramble on October 23 at the North Sound Golf Club in Grand Cayman.

The scholarship fund has raised more than $5 million since its inception, supporting 90 Caymanian students pursuing education locally and overseas.

The event brought together insurance industry professionals for golf, networking, and fundraising. Grant Thornton, Honigman, and Scotiabank sponsored the tournament, which also raised funds through a raffle featuring prizes donated by local businesses and organizations.

Premium Players (Teneo) won the team competition, followed by USA Risk in second place and EY in third.

Individual competition winners included Kelly Wright and Rob Wilson for the women's and men's longest drives, respectively. Steph Cooper won closest to the pin for women, Andrew MacKay won for men, and Andy Bellfield took the overall closest-to-the-pin award. Ric Agrella won the putting competition.

No participant claimed the hole-in-one prize, although Stephen Caffrey came closest to the pin during the challenge.

"We're proud to continue supporting the IMAC Golf Scramble and the important work of the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund. It's an event that brings our industry together for a great cause, and seeing the funds raised translate into educational opportunities for young Caymanians makes our involvement particularly rewarding," said Pierré Jacobs, partner, insurance, at Grant Thornton (Cayman) LLP.

"We're delighted to support this year's IMAC Golf Scramble and contribute to an initiative that makes a meaningful difference in the local community. Education is an investment in the future, and we're pleased to play a part in helping the next generation of Caymanian talent pursue their ambitions," said Rob Humphries, partner at Honigman.

"For 7 years, Scotiabank has supported the IMAC Golf Scramble and its ongoing commitment to education. The event is a great example of what can be achieved when the industry comes together, and we're proud to contribute to a scholarship program that continues to create opportunities for Caymanian students," said Marcus Stafford, director of captive insurance services at Scotiabank & Trust (Cayman) Ltd.

Raffle prizes were donated by the Westin, Sunshine Suites, Cayman Islands Sailing Club, Cayman Physio, Luca, North Sound Golf Club, Market Street Group, and the IMAC CCF Committee.

Additional information about the scholarship fund is available on the IMAC website.
