ICCIE Honors Educators, Graduates, and New Board Members

The International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) recognized captive insurance professionals and recent graduates during the 2026 Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) conference while also announcing new board members and other organizational developments.
ICCIE presented its inaugural Captive Education Leader Award to Michael Douglas during the VCIA General Session. The annual award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions as a captive insurance educator. Nominations for the 2027 award are open through October 31 on the ICCIE website.

ICCIE also recognized captive industry veteran Karin Landry as an ICCIE Fellow. The designation is reserved for individuals who have attained ICCIE's highest educational standard, the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation maintained in good standing, and have made a major contribution to the captive insurance industry.

Steven Gruber received the VCIA Distinguished Scholar Award. ICCIE offers the award annually in recognition of VCIA's role in creating the industry education program. The award provides a full ACI scholarship to an individual from a VCIA member organization.

ICCIE executive director Mitch Cantor also recognized recent recipients of the ACI and Certificate in Captive Insurance (CCI) designations at the VCIA conference.
Recent ACI recipients are Rusty Barrett, Meghan Cassidy, Megan Chevy, Kirsten Cleary, Peter Dalpiaz, Michael Foley, Dominick Frank, Victor Gallardo, Kim Garner, Lisa Guerra, Phillip Holowka, Nicholas Hopkins, Bradd Ifill, Christopher Khan, Jacob Kosch, Christine Lindquist, Ken Mochizuki, Megan Nelson, Michael Piergallini, Kaine Quesada, Michael Reynolds, Jason Rodriguez, Joseph Rosenberger, Clinton Smith, Ileshia Smith, Jameson Smith, Eli Snowbarger, Dakota Terry, Bryan Tsikouris, Gary Zajicek, and Daniel Zydel.
Recent CCI recipients are Emily Bratt, Eric Bulduc, Angela Carpenter, Diego de Deus, Mandie Friar, Winfield Greenwood, Fernando Lopez, Dale McCann, and Uvbi Obasuyi.
ICCIE also announced three additions to its board following its annual meeting in August: Prabal Lakhanpal, Sherry Ricker, and John Talley. All three hold the ACI designation.
The Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) increased its annual financial commitment to ICCIE to $15,000, maintaining its position as ICCIE's largest individual annual contributor.

ICCIE also announced its fifth annual All Captive Conference ticket raffle. The winner will receive admission to 17 participating captive conferences during 2027. The ticket is fully transferable, and entries will be available through December 9.
The organization recently held its anniversary celebration at the Main Street Landing Performing Arts Center in downtown Burlington, Vermont. The event included a 50-50 raffle and wine pull fundraiser.
