FERMA Launches 2026 Global Risk Manager Survey with Global Scope
January 19, 2026
The Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA) has launched its 2026 Global Risk Manager Survey, continuing its collaboration with international counterparts including Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc., Pan-Asia Risk and Insurance Management Association, Alarys, Institute of Risk Management South Africa, and Club Francorisk. Now in its second global edition, the survey spans Europe, the US, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and Africa and remains the most comprehensive cross-border study of the risk management profession.
Conducted in partnership with PwC France, the 2026 survey explores a broad set of strategic and operational issues. These include the maturity and evolving focus of risk management functions, the influence of emerging risks on short- and long-term priorities, and the role risk professionals play in areas such as environmental, social, and governance and digitalization. It also examines recent trends in the insurance market and how they are affecting risk transfer strategies.
The initiative builds on the success of the 2024 Global Risk Manager Survey, the first to include markets beyond Europe. That edition drew more than 1,000 responses from risk professionals in 77 countries, setting a record for FERMA and highlighting the profession's growing need for international benchmarking.
Tadas Cilcius, FERMA board member and chair of the 2026 survey, said, "The Global Risk Manager Survey continues to be one of the most authoritative references for understanding how the profession is evolving. Maintaining the survey's global reach allows us to capture diverse perspectives, assess how priorities differ across regions, and identify emerging practices that are redefining the role of the risk manager worldwide."
Laurent Nihoul, CEO of FERMA, said, "This survey gives risk professionals a valuable opportunity to benchmark their organizations against peers across the world. By gathering robust, global data, FERMA aims to support the profession with actionable insights, encourage innovation, and help shape a shared vision for the future of risk management."
The survey will remain open to risk managers until the end of March 2026. Results will be published during the FERMA Forum, scheduled for October 4–6, 2026, in Rotterdam.
