Fall 2025 ICCIE Courses Open for Registration; SCCIA Offers Scholarship Opportunity

The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) is offering a full scholarship for professionals pursuing either the Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) or Certificate in Captive Insurance (CCI) through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE). The scholarship is available exclusively to employees of SCCIA member companies, and applications must be submitted by July 1, 2025. SCCIA-ICCIE Application may be found here.

As part of its fall course offerings, ICCIE's registration page currently lists 10 core and elective courses scheduled to begin in September, October, and December 2025. All courses are delivered online and include weekly instructor-led webconferences.

The core course “Forming and Operating a Captive” begins on September 2. Students must register by August 26. This course includes six webconference sessions, self-paced reading, weekly assignments, and a final exam.

The elective course "Regulation of Captives" begins on September 4. Students must register by August 28. The course includes four webconferences, self-paced reading, weekly assignments, and a final exam.

The core course "An Introduction to Alternative Risk Financing Mechanisms" begins on September 24. Students must register by September 17. In addition to self-study and assignments, students attend four webconferences, complete a team case study, and take a final exam.

The core course "Understanding Risk and Risk Retention Mechanisms" begins on October 14. Students must register by October 7. The course includes five webconferences, reading, weekly assignments, and a final exam.

The core course "Investment Basics for Captives" begins on October 20. Students must register by October 13. The course includes four webconferences, reading, assignments, and a final exam.

The elective course "Accounting for Captives: Interpretation and Management Perspectives" begins on October 9. Students must register by October 2. The course includes three webconferences, self-paced reading, assignments, and a final exam.

The core course "Reinsurance and Other Risk Transfer Mechanisms" begins on October 30. Students must register by October 23. This course includes three webconferences and concludes with a final exam.

The core course "Business Ethics in the Captive Insurance Industry" begins on December 2. Students must register by November 25. The course includes three webconferences, a team project, and a final exam.

The core course "Predicting Risk and an Introduction to Actuarial Science" begins on December 3. Students must register by November 25. It includes three webconferences and a final exam.

The elective course "Captive Board Governance" begins on December 4. Students must register by November 25. The course includes three webconferences, a peer project, and a final exam.
