Cayman Captive Forum 2025 Agenda Features Global Thought Leaders

The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) has released the agenda for the 2025 Cayman Captive Forum, scheduled for December 2–4 at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman. The annual event, recognized as the world's largest captive insurance conference, will feature a diverse lineup of sessions, panels, and keynote speakers addressing key developments shaping the global captive insurance industry.
Michael Wild, chair of the Cayman Captive Forum Committee, said the agenda reflects the evolution of the industry and is designed to help captive owners and service providers "navigate change and capture new opportunities."
Highlights of the 3-day program include opening remarks by Kieran Mehigan and a welcome from Cayman Islands Premier and Minister for Financial Services and Commerce André Ebanks. The opening keynote will be delivered by Rashmi Airan, a globally recognized speaker known for her message on overcoming adversity.
Technical sessions throughout the event will cover core topics including market shifts, regulatory developments, and governance. Jim Williamson of Everest will present an insurance market update, while a session titled "Director Responsibilities—A 360 Review" will feature Hon. Justice Jalil Asif KC, Melissa Thomas of Aurum Governance, and Lesley Thompson of WTW.
Other sessions include "A Powerful Combination: Mergers and Acquisitions in HealthCare" with speakers from GCM, Baylor Scott & White Health, and Honigman; and "Smart Risk: AI Transformations in Captive Insurance," focused on how artificial intelligence is reshaping risk management and operations.
Chris Lemons, a deep-sea saturation diver featured in the Netflix/BBC documentary Last Breath, will deliver the second keynote, "Performing Under Pressure," sharing insights on resilience and survival.
Further sessions include regulatory and financial updates from Steve McIntosh of Cayman Finance and Kara Ebanks from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority. A presentation on workplace safety by IUH Assurance and Aon will explore captive-funded safety initiatives.
The agenda also features "Trailblazing Tomorrow: Leaders in Cayman Captive Insurance," a panel on talent development and knowledge transfer, and a live taping of The Insurance Podcast Show, focusing on how Cayman captives are navigating evolving risk and compliance landscapes.
