AXA XL has promoted Ana Dores to chief underwriting officer, International Financial Lines, Asia-Pacific (APAC) and Europe, effective on September 1, 2022. She will be based in Madrid, Spain.

In her new role, Ms. Dores will oversee the management of AXA XL's financial lines portfolio and, working closely with local underwriting teams, will be responsible for the underwriting strategy for professional indemnity, management liability, financial institutions, cyber, and mergers and acquisitions in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

"Ana is a respected member of our financial lines business. She has a wealth of knowledge across our product suite and has built a solid reputation within the team since joining AXA XL in 2014," Etienne Champion, chief underwriting officer APAC and Europe at AXA XL, said in a statement. "She is well poised to help us deliver on our goals as we look to continue supporting our clients and profitably grow our portfolio."

Ms. Dores has 17 years of experience in financial lines underwriting. She started her career with AIG Europe, first in Portugal as a financial lines underwriter and then in Madrid as a professional indemnity underwriter. She then worked at Liberty Specialty Markets as a senior underwriter before joining AXA XL in 2014, where she has been leading the International Financial Lines for Iberia since 2017.
