AM Best will host an analytical briefing on August 4 examining the current state of the US captive insurance market, bringing together analysts and industry leaders to discuss performance trends, alternative risk transfer (ART), and the evolving role of captives within enterprise risk management (ERM) frameworks.

The virtual briefing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m. (EDT) and will feature speakers from both AM Best and the captive insurance industry. According to AM Best, the discussion will focus on issues shaping the captive insurance market, including financial results and the business environment for captive insurers and related ART organizations.

Panelists include Christine Brown, deputy commissioner of the Captive Insurance Division for the State of Vermont; Ian Davis, president of the Vermont Captive Insurance Association; Kourtnie Beckwith, senior financial analyst at AM Best; and Sharon Marks, director at AM Best.

According to AM Best, one area of discussion will be the performance of rated captive insurers, with panelists reviewing industry trends identified through the organization's analysis. The briefing will also examine the benefits that captive and ART structures can provide to owners and members.

The discussion will also explore how captive insurance companies fit within broader ERM strategies. According to AM Best, panelists will consider the role captives play in supporting parent organizations' risk management objectives as businesses continue to evaluate alternative approaches to financing risk.

The briefing will be held virtually and is open to registrants.
