The Alabama Captive Insurance Association (ACIA) has released its official safety protocols for its annual conference, which will be held in-person on September 16–18.

The ACIA is implementing several safety measures to ensure a safe conference for attendees, including, but not limited to, the following.

  • Providing masks with filters to all attendees each day of the conference
  • Setting up all meeting spaces with social distancing guidelines
  • Providing hand sanitizer to all attendees with additional sanitizer stations set up throughout the venue
  • Using hotel staff for contact-free distribution of all food and beverages, including buffets
  • Implementing a "no touch" conference greeting

"We understand the concern surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and are collaborating with our event venue to successfully ensure a safe environment during the 2020 Conference in accordance with COVID-19 safety guidelines recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)," ACIA President Norman Chandler said in a statement.

A full list of safety measures for the 2020 ACIA Annual Conference can be found on the organization's website.

The ACIA's annual conference will be held in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Westin Hotel and Resort. The group said it would use the hotel's oversized conference venue to ensure social distancing.
