Mr. Abel is a partner in the Chicago office of Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting, where he advises insurance and financial services organizations on large-scale data, finance, and technology transformation initiatives. He brings more than 30 years of management advisory and business experience, working closely with executive leadership teams to address complex change, modernize operating models, and deliver sustainable financial and operational outcomes.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Mr. Abel led a Big Four firm's cross-functional insurance digital advisory practice and has overseen numerous end-to-end transformation programs across insurance and other industries. His experience includes standing up new regulated entities, rebuilding actuarial and financial modeling functions, leading accounting change initiatives, and supporting insurers through restructuring, divestitures, and technology modernization efforts. He also advises InsurTech and FinTech start-ups on product strategy, growth, and investor readiness.
