Mr. Groos, senior vice president and risk advisor, property risk practice, Hylant, oversees property loss control programs for clients across a broad range of industries. He primarily acts as an advocate for his clients, ensuring that property risk issues are identified, prioritized, and addressed in a practical and consistent manner. He started his career as a field engineer with Factory Mutual (FM) and has extensive knowledge of FM and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. He has over 30-years of experience conducting property risk site visits, including installation review and acceptance testing for all types of fire protection systems.
Mr. Groos has also developed specialized skills including risk ranking and data analysis procedures, business interruption analysis, natural hazards assessment, and jurisdictional pressure vessel management. He has gained global experience working with multinational clients in Brazil, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada, the UK, and Singapore. His most recent industry experience expanded to include extensive involvement with the food and beverage industry and the high-tech manufacturing sector.
Mr. Groos is a member of the NFPA and has extensive experience and relationships with third-party engineering firms in the property loss control industry. Other career highlights include advanced manufacturing, warehousing and high-piled storage, business interruption evaluation, property risk rank program development, and natural hazards evaluations and modeling.
Mr. Groos earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa.
