Mr. Evans is the director of captives underwriting at Midwest Employers Casualty (MEC), where he brings more than 2 decades of specialized experience across captive programs, alternative risk solutions, and complex multiline underwriting. Known for his balanced blend of technical expertise and collaborative leadership, Mr. Evans has overseen a diverse portfolio of captive structures across a wide range of program sizes and industries.
He works closely with internal partners, as well as external brokers, captive managers, captive consultants, program administrators, and clients to ensure sustainable performance and long‑term success for each program.
Before joining MEC, Mr. Evans built a substantial insurance career progressing through actuarial, underwriting, and leadership roles. During this time, he developed deep expertise in pure fronts, client‑owned and agency‑owned captives, rent-a‑captives, quota share arrangements, and a broad range of coverages including workers compensation, general liability, auto, property, and inland marine. His ability to blend technical actuarial expertise with practical underwriting judgment has made him a trusted resource for complex program design, performance evaluation, and strategic guidance.
Mr. Evans is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has also earned the Associate in Insurance (AINS), Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. He successfully completed numerous Casualty Actuarial Society actuarial exams and continues to expand his technical foundation. He is currently pursuing his Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE), underscoring his dedication to advancing expertise within the captive insurance space.
