Ms. Brown is a captive insurance consultant at Hylant. Prior to consulting, she gained approximately 5 years of experience in captive management, having worked at both Hylant and Marsh. She also served as a captive insurance regulator with the State of Vermont. In her current role at Hylant, Ms. Brown assists new and existing clients in optimizing their captive insurance companies.
With a background in accounting and captive management, Ms. Brown excels at helping clients comprehend financial statements and feasibility studies with precision. Her daily tasks include preparing proposals and proformas and educating clients and stakeholders about captive insurance. Working at Hylant holds a special significance for Ms. Brown due to her close ties and personal connections with the leadership and the family behind the organization.
Ms. Brown earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont. She holds an Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designation from the International Center for Captive Insurance Education and is currently pursuing her property and casualty license. Additionally, Ms. Brown is a member of the inaugural cohort of the Hylant MBA Program.
Ms. Brown is actively engaged in the captive insurance industry. She has previously served as the chair of the Resources and Marketing Committee for the Vermont Captive Insurance Emerging Leaders Group and has been involved in the Vermont Captive Insurance Association (VCIA) conference planning committee. Ms. Brown has also spoken at various conferences, including the National Risk Retention Association Conference and the VCIA conference. She finds great enjoyment in participating in educational events across the industry.
