A new Vermont-domiciled captive insurance solution is available. The captive, eCaptiv LLC, will be funded through client participation and will provide auto liability, general liability, excess liability, and workers compensation coverages.

The program will also offer "significant" excess reinsurance above captive retentions.

Massachusetts-based Energi Insurance Services, a managing general agency, and Houston International Insurance Group (HIIG) have partnered to provide this solution to energy clients.

Energi offers insurance and risk solutions to energy-related industries in fuel distribution, energy transport, energy construction, utilities, renewable energy, and agricultural cooperatives.

Houston-based HIIG is an insurance holding company formed in 2007 by Stephen L. Way. The company has underwriting segments focused on accident and health, commercial, excess and surplus lines, and specialty. HIIG's total assets exceed $1.5 billion.

Financial adviser Stonybrook Risk Management arranged the partnership and provides mezzanine financing for Energie though its affiliate, Stonybrook Capital.
