(ST. LOUIS, July 27, 2017) Brown Smith Wallace was named by the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance and the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants (AWSCPA) to the Accounting MOVE Project’s 2017 Best Public Accounting Firms for Women list.

The Best Accounting Firms for Women list names accounting firms that best demonstrate three characteristics:

—Consistent, measurable progress in advancing women to leadership.

—Proven and continually evolving programs that retain and advance women.

—Clear and compelling integration of the business case for advancing women with business results.

At Brown Smith Wallace, women make up 57 percent of the staff, with 35 percent of women in a partner or principal role.

In 2014, four female partners launched THE BRIDGE, an event series designed to be a vehicle for networking, fun and professional development for women. THE BRIDGE initiative has enhanced the firm’s brand in the local market and recruiting efforts with women professionals based on comments received during the recruitment process.
