The Western Region Captive Insurance Conference, LLC (WRCIC), is a limited liability corporation formed in 2017. WRCIC consists of two board members each from Arizona, Missouri, and Utah's captive insurance associations. According to the conference website, the WRCIC's "sole purpose is to provide a quality annual industry conference. It is their vision to continue to grow this conference to attract additional state domiciles and become THE premier captive insurance conference in the West."

The keynote session will be delivered by captive insurance tax expert and general captive insurance authority, Tom Jones, of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. Keith Schraad, Arizona's Department of Insurance director, will be this year's lunch keynote.

"We are very pleased to be able to highlight Tom Jones' work in the captive field and have him interact with conference attendees throughout the conference, including being on a panel for the tax track. His knowledge and expertise are second to none and having him as our keynote adds an additional layer of value to our attendees," Mike Low, Arizona Captive Insurance Association board chair and WRCIC chair, said.

Also in attendance and exhibiting at the conference will be Ann Wick with Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS). According to Ms. Wick, SRS established one of the first Arizona captives in 2002 and set up a Phoenix-area office in 2007.

She said, "As a captive manager servicing clients in all three domiciles, I value the opportunity to share best practices as well as learn from the regulators from all three domiciles. Each domicile has developed captive laws and regulations unique to their domicile."

She continued, "Each domicile has worked hard to maintain a stable environment for their captives to operate while also considering new ideas, which is the foundation of what the captive industry is all about."

Ross Elliot, Utah Captive Insurance Association board member and WRCIC committee member, said, "This year's conference sessions have been structured to provide substantive captive education for owners, providers, regulators, and friends. We invite you to attend this outstanding conference and share insights and challenges with your peers and industry experts as we 'tee up our future' in captive insurance."
