Now Underway, the CICA Conference Looks at Captives Shaping the Future

Shape the Future 480x377
March 11, 2019

This year's Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) International Conference, "Captives: Shaping the Future," is now underway from March 10–12 at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson. Some of the captive industry's best minds converge with CICA to examine captive solutions and strategies found in the opportunity-rich captive industry.

CICA says the "broad array of issues addressed by captives reflects the industry's maturity and growth." Such issues include health insurance solutions, cannabis, cyber security, and big data.

This year's event brings 500 captive insurance representatives and service providers from around the world, including over 100 first-time attendees who will engage through networking and educational opportunities.

The diverse group of attendees includes captive owners, potential captive owners, captive managers, risk managers, domicile regulators and officials, and service providers.

The conference agenda aims to provide more education, a deeper dive into emerging issues, and more ways to bring together today's leaders and tomorrow's top talent.

The schedule is filled with leading industry experts that will cover an array of current topics, including captive basics and best practices, international insights, workers compensation and disability in captives, commercial auto in captives, enterprise risk captives, cyber liability, claims management and loss reserving, corporate governance, regulatory hot topics, risk retention groups, blockchain, student essay contest finalists, Latin American captives, global issues, and more.

Once again, CICA hosts a professional development track, bringing practical training on needed skills for captive and risk management professionals to achieve career success in order to successfully participate in captive insurer optimization.

Conference sessions are presented in three tracks—101: All Audiences, 201: Intermediate, and 301: Advanced. View the full schedule HERE.
