Registration is now open for the 15th Bermuda Captive Conference. The 3-day conference, planned for June 10−12, is staged at the Fairmont Southampton and is Bermuda's largest industry event. The agenda includes educational sessions, keynote speakers, social activities, and networking events.

The Bermuda Business Development Agency said the conference will focus on self-insurance strategies for lifting companies to a whole new level. The 2019 conference theme—"Elevate"—encourages risk managers to consider the many ways captives can contain costs and manage coverage, whether for a Fortune 500 corporation or midsized business.

Conference Chair Michael Parrish said, "We hope to connect with both risk managers who may not have considered captive insurance before, and owners of existing captive insurers to demonstrate how they can innovatively tackle new and emerging risks facing any size of business in today's corporate environment."

He continued, "Our agenda will examine innovative programmes that can be developed in a captive, and topics will include cutting-edge issues such as [InsurTech], cyber security, autonomous driving, global employee benefits, and the shared economy."

Bermuda is the premier captive insurance jurisdiction, home to more than 700 captive companies generating about $40 billion in annual gross written premiums. The sector recorded continued growth in 2018, registering 19 new entities according to the Bermuda Monetary Authority.

"We're inviting delegates to 'elevate their perspective, elevate their network, elevate their captive,'" said Mr. Parrish.

The early-bird registration deadline is March 31.
