Captive Insurance and Sexual Misconduct

Michael Maglaras-SF
January 30, 2019

A new Captive Thought Leader Video featuring Michael Maglaras, principal, Michael Maglaras & Company, titled "Captive Insurance and Sexual Misconduct," has recently been added to the Captive.com video library.

Mr. Maglaras says that we have been insuring bad behavior in the commercial insurance market and in captive insurers for many decades. In this video, he raises questions and explores ideas around sexual misconduct, sexual abuse, sexual intimidation, and captive insurance.

Some would argue that—at this moment—sexual abuse, sexual molestation, and sexual intimidation are almost, if not entirely, uninsurable, according to Mr. Maglaras.

This is hard to explain to a captive owner who must insure assets, protect a board of directors, and protect innocent parties. Mr. Maglaras believes that, as we begin to see a tightening of terms and conditions and as this issue continually stays in the press, captive insurers will have to respond and will respond.

Captives are so adept at taking care of transactional issues, they now must become increasingly adept at insuring societal issues, according to Mr. Maglaras.

There is no cost to view the videos, and you will find them in the Captive Thought Leader Videos section of Captive.com. More videos will be added in the future.
