Atlas Insurance Management, a captive insurance management firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has received approval from the Georgia insurance department to act as a manager for captive insurance companies domiciled in Georgia. Atlas is the first captive manager to be approved by Georgia this year.

"Georgia is a very competitive and attractive captive domicile," said Martin Eveleigh, chairman of Atlas. "We look forward to being part of Georgia's captive management landscape and joining one of the most business-friendly states in the country."

Georgia opened up the state to captive managers in 2015, and Atlas is now one of 15 firms operating in the domicile. With recent updates to the captive insurance company laws, it is now easier for Georgia businesses to manage their risks.

Georgia is the 14th domicile in which Atlas has been approved to act as a captive manager. In 2017 alone, Atlas received approval to manage captives in the states of Oklahoma and Texas.
