John Rehagen, CFE, ACI, has been appointed director of company and captive regulation, overseeing insurance company solvency regulation as well as the thriving $5.1 billion captive insurance program for the Missouri Department of Insurance. John M. Huff, Missouri Department of Insurance director, made the announcement recently during the Missouri Insurance Coalition Annual meeting, according to a press release.

Since Mr. Rehagen set up the program in 2007, 51 captives have been licensed, including a record 12 last year.

"The state received national recognition as a leading U.S. domicile when it was named to the shortlist for the 2015 U.S. Captive Service Awards," said Mr. Huff, as quoted in the press release. "John played a key role in earning that recognition."

Mr. Rehagen previously served as acting director and deputy director of the Division of Company Regulation. He joined the department in 2003 as a financial examiner and financial analyst.

Mr. Huff also announced the appointments of four additional veteran regulators to new and expanded leadership roles. More information is available in the Missouri Department of Insurance press release.
