Bryan Hudson Named South Carolina Captive Insurance Association’s 2014 Captive Person of the Year

September 30, 2014

COLUMBIA, S.C.--The South Carolina Captive Insurance Association (SCCIA) awarded its highest honor, Captive Person of the Year, to Bryan Hudson on Tuesday, September 23, during its 15th Annual Executive Educational Conference.

The Captive Person of the Year award recognizes an individual for his or her outstanding leadership and accomplishments on behalf of the association and captive insurance industry in South Carolina.

Mr. Hudson is a partner at Bauknight, Pietras & Stormer, P.A. He has worked within the industry since the captive insurance legislation was signed into law by Governor Jim Hodges in 2000. Over the past 15 years, Mr. Hudson has worked tirelessly to promote South Carolina as a domicile of choice, most notably through his role on the Conference Committee, which he chaired for the second consecutive year in 2014.

SCCIA President Chris Stormer described Mr. Hudson as “a tireless worker behind the scenes to make sure that the agenda is the best it can be.” When asked about Mr. Hudson’s accomplishments, Mr. Stormer stated that he was “… instrumental in taking conference to the next level last year with Frank Abagnale keynote.”

In addition to his involvement in the SCCIA, Mr. Hudson also serves on the International Center for Captive Insurance Education (ICCIE) Board of Directors and on the North Carolina Captive Insurance Association’s Education Committee this year.

Mr. Hudson is a native of Summerville, South Carolina. He is married and has two children.
