REPORTS TO: Corporate Vice President
SUPERVISES: Contract Administrator, Locates staff, DOT Compliance Coordinator
PURPOSE: Manage and mitigate numerous aspects of risk to the organization and its employees, customers, assets and interests. Oversee contract review, claims, utility locates, DOT and background screening programs and advise the organization on any potential risks to the profitability or existence of the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lead and continuously improve the company’s risk management program • Evaluate the costs, legal requirements and environmental factors associated with identified risks and make decisions to avoid, reduce or transfer that risk • Identify and assess threats and put plans in place in case things go wrong • Develop risk reporting for various internal customers • Lead and continuously improve the contract review and approval process • Purchase insurance and make business continuity plans to limit risk • Manage and continuously improve the insurance and utility claims processes • Manage the execution of background screening and DOT administration • Conduct policy and compliance audits to internal and industry standards • Understand broad business issues and articulate corrective approach • Ensure that Aldridge’s 5 Key Safety Elements are followed.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • 4 year degree or minimum 8 years related work in construction/contracting field • Working knowledge of business risk, contract review, claims management and Illinois insurance laws and regulations • Emergency response skills and ability to remain calm under pressure • Demonstrated problem solving and decision making abilities • Strong planning, organization, communication and presentation skills • Negotiation skills with the ability to influence people and drive change • Technical acumen, analytical skills and ability to evaluate costs
