Position Summary: Oversees and manages highly specialized accounting unit for the University's wholly owned captive, Fiat Lux Insurance Company and subsidiary captives. Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to multiple and various captive units. Objectives are reviewed by the captive board consisting of the UC President, CFO, COO, General Counsel and other senior management to determine success of captive operations. Responsible for managing, preparing, administering, and directing the control of the budget/organizational resources for the University's wholly owned captive, Fiat Lux Insurance Company and subsidiary captives. Reviews and approves recommendations for financial planning and control. Monitors adherence to approved captive budgets. Involved in developing, modifying and executing policies that affect immediate operation(s) and may also have organization-wide effect. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals results in additional costs and personnel, and serious delays in overall schedules.
