Kane Announces New Head of US Operations Liz Frederick, Head of ILS, takes up position
Ms Frederick, who is currently Global Practice Head for Kane’s Insurance Linked Securities business, will take up her new position in March 2012, following the departure of Elizabeth Steinman. She will also continue in her role as ILS Practice Head. Based in the Cayman Islands for the last six years, Ms Frederick has extensive experience in the structuring and on-going management of a range of ILS and captive structures, including catastrophe bonds, side cars, segregated account transformers, pure captives, rent-a-captives and special purpose financial captives. Commenting on the appointment, Simon Hinshelwood, Kane Group Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that Liz Frederick has taken up the position of Managing Director, Kane (USA). Liz has achieved exceptional success as Head of our ILS operations, and her extensive experience in the international insurance markets, and in particular the Americas, makes her an ideal candidate to run our US operations, as we look to expand our activities in the region. Mr Hinshelwood added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Elizabeth Steinman who, over the last seven years, has worked extremely hard to grow our insurance management business in the US.” Ms Frederick will remain available to support Kane’s team in Cayman, which is currently being expanded to ensure the appropriate depth of experience and expertise is available to support business growth. New appointments will be announced shortly. In January 2012, Kane announced that it had raised additional funding from its principal shareholder, CBPE, to invest in a new office in New York and to further enhance and invest in its product offering in its LPI business.
