ALARYS BERMUDA RISK MANAGEMENT EVENT ENHANCED BY IFRIMA Hamilton, Bermuda --- August 3, 2010 -- The ALARYS Bermuda Committee is pleased to announce that the October 11-13 ALARYS meetings in Bermuda (www.alarysbermuda.com) have been declared the International Federation of Risk and Insurance Management Associations (IFRIMA) Designated Conference.
“The IDC was thrilled that they agreed, and we expect this year’s event to be even better than when we first hosted ALARYS in 2004 – which was also an IFRIMA Designated Conference.” IFRIMA (www.ifrima.org) is the international umbrella organization for risk management associations (including RIMS and ALARYS), representing 23 organizations in over 30 countries around the world. With its roots going back to the 1930s and its development through the discipline of insurance and risk management, IFRIMA is uniquely positioned as a leader in risk management and its application. As an "association of associations", IFRIMA's primary objective is to provide a forum for interaction and communications among risk management associations and their members.
“This represents not only a demonstration of confidence of the worldwide risk management community in ALARYS, but mainly confidence in Bermuda. “We appreciate the accommodation of Bermuda, its government, and its insurance and reinsurance community. I believe the IFRIMA decision was also influenced by the friendly nature of the people of this beautiful country. “The three spoken languages at the conference- English, Portuguese and Spanish - will enhance the internationality of the participants. “We hope that we can together achieve our target of improving the technical knowledge in our profession, as well as expand our network with our partners: insurers, reinsurers and brokers. “We expect to enjoy high quality presentations and an opportunity to network and exchange experiences with colleagues from all around the world through the educational sessions, panel discussions and other activities that have carefully been planned.”
